Packers vs. Giants: Preview and Prediction
- Updated: October 9, 2016
When: 7:30 p.m. Sunday
Where: Lambeau Field – Green Bay, Wis.
Television: NBC
Series: Packers lead, 31-26-2
Line: Packers by 7
Weather: Low 50s
Under head coach Mike McCarthy, Green Bay is 9-1 after the bye week. This year’s bye came at a crucial time after key defensive players – Clay Matthews, Morgan Burnett and Letroy Guion – sat out against Detroit in Week 3.
But, the New York Giants have a history of success winning big games at Lambeau Field with Eli Manning at quarterback. The Packers are allowing a low 1.8 yards per rushing attempt, which will force the Giants to rely on the combination of Manning and star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. through the air.
The Packers are coming off a 31-point performance against Detroit and that could mean Green Bay’s prolific offense is back on track. Both team’s defenses have struggled, especially against the pass.
Despite the Giants best efforts, Aaron Rodgers and Co. will outscore them in what should be a high scoring game.
Prediction: Packers 34, Giants 24
