Packers vs. Giants: Preview, Prediction

Chiefs Packers Broncos Chargers Jaguars

The Packers are playing their best football of the season, riding a three-game winning streak and occupying a playoff spot. It’s a notable turnaround for the young team that started the season slowly and looked out of sync.

On Monday night, the Packers (6-6) will face the New York Giants (4-8) on the road. The Packers enter the contest as the favorite to prevail. They’re playing well in all phases, with quarterback Jordan Love looking like a franchise quarterback and the defense shutting down opposing offenses.

On the other sideline, the Giants are in the midst of a disappointing season after qualifying for the playoffs one year ago. They’re playing backup QB Tommy DeVito due to starter Daniel Jones going down with a knee injury just over a month ago. They also haven’t received consistent, quality production from star running back Saquon Barkley.

The Giants are a mess, and the Packers should prevail. But that’s not a given. The Packers are a young team, and after being underdogs in their last three contests, they enter Monday’s game expected to win. The Packers can’t have a letdown and play down to the Giants. Instead, they need to continue to play in rhythm and limit turnovers offensively while applying pressure on DeVito and forcing him to make mistakes.

This game might be closer than most expect, but the Packers will walk away victorious to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Prediction: Packers 24, Giants 20
